Brian Naughton

Dr. Brian Naughton was Founding Scientist and Vice President at 23andMe from its inception in 2006 until 2014. In this role, Naughton drew on his experience in bioinformatics, statistics and genetics to analyze data, develop algorithms and translate scientific research to drive the world's first Personal Genome Service. While at 23andMe, Dr. Naughton worked on the design and development of the company's custom genotyping and sequencing technologies, as well as the development of the company's web-based tools related to disease risk estimation, pharmacogenomics, recessive disease testing, ancestry, and genealogy. Dr. Naughton currently works on cloud biology and synthetic biology at Boolean Biotech. 

 Dr. Naughton earned a PhD from the Biomedical Informatics program at Stanford University and a BA in Human Genetics from Trinity College, Dublin.
